Cohuna District Hospital has a fully equipped operating room, post-anaesthetic care and a central sterilising supply department (CSSD).

Visiting and local surgeons as well as anaesthetists provide services on a regular basis.

Service provision includes:

• General Surgery
• Obstetrics

All visiting surgeons work closely with the local medical clinic, GP anaesthetists and the nursing staff ensuring that the peri-operative phase of a patient’s care is co-ordinated and delivered to a consistently high standard.

The CSSD processes reusable sterile stock for departments throughout the hospital and community.
