Cohuna District Hospital Graduate Nurse Program Blended Stream
Positions are offered at 0.8 EFT (8 days per fortnight)
Recruiting is in collaboration with Post Medical Council of Victoria Allocation and Placement Service.

This graduate program is designed to help the Graduate Nurse transition from student to Registered Nurse and to provide consolidation of knowledge and skills whilst using a holistic approach to the delivery of nursing care.

Rotations are offered in Acute Care, Aged Care, Renal Dialysis Unit, Medical Day Procedure Unit (MDPU) Nursing, Perioperative Unit and Midwifery Group Practice (MGP).

Commencement date: January 2027

KSC1 Sound level of knowledge and skill relating to nursing care and the clinical environment appropriate to the position.
KSC2 Commitment to ongoing learning and the ability to accept constructive feedback and appropriate direction.
KSC3 Ability to set goals and objective and meet deadlines as required.
KSC4 Commitment to working as part of a team and the ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
KSC5 Commitment to completing all requirements of the graduate nurse program continuing professional development.
KSC6 Knowledge of contemporary nursing issues, trends and research.
KSC7 Commitment to quality assurance and quality improvement activities.

Salary per hour: $61.79 + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Employment Type: Ongoing full-time 76 hours per fortnight

Role description

Cohuna District Hospital (CDH) is seeking an experienced and values‑driven Corporate Services Director to lead and manage the hospital’s non‑clinical corporate functions and support the delivery of high‑quality healthcare to our community.

This is a senior leadership role with broad responsibility across corporate services, governance, and operational improvement, and provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a regional health service.

The position may be required to deputise for and relieve the CEO as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage non‑clinical corporate functions across the organisation
  • Oversee the following departments:
    • Support Services (Environmental Services and Food Services)
    • Facilities and Infrastructure
    • Reception and Administration
  • Manage key service portfolios including:
    • Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
    • Procurement and Contract Management
    • Asset Management, including fleet
    • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
    • Data reporting, including projects, performance measures and clinical indicators
  • Provide effective project management for initiatives relevant to areas of responsibility
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and customer service
  • Contribute to executive leadership and organisational governance, including CEO relief when required

About you

  • Experience in general management of a complex organisation
  • Tertiary qualification in Business/ Management or relevant equivalent discipline, or evidence of currently enrolled in such program
  • Cert IV in procurement or evidence of commitment to work towards same.
  • Proven track record of leading a team and demonstrating high emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work collaboratively to supervise and motivate a diverse team
  • Ability to ensure all corporate services functions achieve standards and meet KPIs
  • Ability to plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives
  • Ability to lead and manage change to achieve desired outcomes
  • Highly-developed written and verbal communication skills including report writing
  • Awareness of, and respect for, patient/resident/visitor privacy
  • Possess a high level of knowledge of computer and digital systems and awareness of cybersecurity risks and requirements
