Cohuna District Hospital is a welcoming, rural health service located in northern Victoria, dedicated to delivering high-quality care with compassion and respect. Established as a public hospital in 1952, it has a rich history of serving the Cohuna community and surrounding areas.

The hospital offers a range of acute services including medical, surgical and obstetric care through its 8-bed facility. In addition to inpatient care, Cohuna District Hospital provides vital community and home-based services such as District Nursing, Social Support Groups and Meals on Wheels, in partnership with Northern District Community Health.

Aged care is also a key part of our service, with a 16-bed nursing home wing adjacent to the hospital, built through strong community support. Our team is proud to work in a collaborative, supportive environment where staff are valued and encouraged to grow.

Position Title: Support Services Coordinator      

Classification: HS3            

Salary per hour: $37.67 + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Employment Type: Ongoing part-time 64 hours per fortnight

Award: Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025

Role description

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional support services in a healthcare environment? We are seeking a Support Services Coordinator to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our Food and Cleaning Departments.

As the Support Services Coordinator, you will:

  • Supervise and coordinate food and cleaning teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Deliver cost-effective, customer-focused services that meet stakeholder needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, standards, and legislation.
  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, infection control, and facility appearance.
  • Work collaboratively to support a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

About you

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in food services and/or cleaning operations (healthcare experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.

Classification: Instrument Tech G4 

Salary per hour: $37.19 + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Role description

Are you passionate about supporting safe surgical care and ensuring positive patient outcomes? Cohuna District Hospital is seeking an Instrument Technician to join our dedicated Perioperative Services team.

As an Instrument Technician, you will play a vital role in the perioperative environment by ensuring the efficient delivery of sterile products and reusable medical devices (RMDs), including endoscopes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Decontamination, reprocessing, storage, and maintenance of RMDs for the Operating Suite and other hospital areas.
  • Assisting with patient transfers within Perioperative Services on operating days.
  • Working collaboratively with the Perioperative Services NUM while maintaining accountability for your own actions and adhering to your scope of practice.

About you

  • Certificate IV Sterilisations Services (HLT47015)
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience, full time equivalent as an Instrument Technician.
  • Knowledge of sterilization and infection control standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. .
