Role description
Cohuna District Health (CDH) is seeking compassionate, capable and self‑directed Health Care Workers to join our dedicated Aged Care, Acute Services and community program teams.
In this rewarding and hands-on role, you will provide high‑quality personal care and support to individuals in accordance with their care plan and CDH standards. You will work collaboratively with ENs, RNs, ANUMs, NUMs, allied health, medical staff, regional and community agencies, and members of the public to ensure safe, effective, person‑centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide competent personal care in line with the individual’s care plan or task list.
- Work self-directed with minimal supervision while maintaining high clinical standards.
- Apply person-centred care and the Reablement Model to maximise independence and wellbeing.
- Support individuals with activities of daily living, lifestyle needs, grooming and dignity.

- Minimum qualification for Grade 2:
Certificate III Individual Support and 12 months full time equivalent experience as a health care worker Grade 1 or Certificate IV Ageing Support and six months full time equivalent experience as an HCW Grade 1.

Cohuna District Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced MGP Unit Manager to lead our Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) service, providing high‑quality, woman‑centred maternity care across our antenatal, postnatal and midwifery home care services.
As the MGP Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective clinical operations of all maternity services at CDH, leading a committed team delivering a recognised continuity‑of‑care model. You will ensure safe, evidence‑based practice aligned with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, while fostering a supportive and collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the efficient day‑to‑day functioning of all maternity services within the MGP model, including antenatal clinics, postnatal inpatient care and midwifery home care.
- Ensure high‑quality maternity care in line with NSQHS Standards and CDH policies.
- Promote and maintain best practice by contributing to the development, review and implementation of relevant policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental, organisational and multidisciplinary meetings as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and service statistics.
- Ensure timely reporting of incidents and near‑misses and support staff in incident management processes.
- Actively contribute to risk management activities, including the identification, mitigation and control of risks within maternity services.
- Support a collaborative, professional midwifery culture grounded in safety, respect and continuity of care.
About you
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Midwifery Nursing including wide experience in Birth Suite, Ante Natal and Post Natal Care with current FSEP Level 3
- Post Tertiary Qualification, or working towards.

As an Instrument Technician, you will play a vital role in the perioperative environment by ensuring the efficient delivery of sterile products and reusable medical devices (RMDs), including endoscopes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Decontamination, reprocessing, storage, and maintenance of RMDs for the Operating Suite and other hospital areas.
- Assisting with patient transfers within Perioperative Services on operating days.
- Working collaboratively with the Perioperative Services NUM while maintaining accountability for your own actions and adhering to your scope of practice.
About you
- Certificate IV Sterilisations Services (HLT47015)
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience, full time equivalent as an Instrument Technician.
