Program Overview
Cohuna District Hospital Graduate Nurse Program Blended Stream
Positions are offered at 0.8 EFT (8 days per fortnight)
Recruiting is in collaboration with Post Medical Council of Victoria Allocation and Placement Service.

This graduate program is designed to help the Graduate Nurse transition from student to Registered Nurse and to provide consolidation of knowledge and skills whilst using a holistic approach to the delivery of nursing care.

Rotations are offered in Acute Care, Aged Care, Renal Dialysis Unit, Medical Day Procedure Unit (MDPU) Nursing, Perioperative Unit and Midwifery Group Practice (MGP).

Commencement date: January 2027

Key Selection Criteria
KSC1 Sound level of knowledge and skill relating to nursing care and the clinical environment appropriate to the position.
KSC2 Commitment to ongoing learning and the ability to accept constructive feedback and appropriate direction.
KSC3 Ability to set goals and objective and meet deadlines as required.
KSC4 Commitment to working as part of a team and the ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
KSC5 Commitment to completing all requirements of the graduate nurse program continuing professional development.
KSC6 Knowledge of contemporary nursing issues, trends and research.
KSC7 Commitment to quality assurance and quality improvement activities.

1.  Letter of introduction noting any specific goals you have for your graduate year
2. Resume
3. Please include a list of dates and organisations where placements have been undertaken during your Undergraduate studies
4. Please include the name, job title, phone and email contact details of 2 (two) professional referees
5. Key Selection Criteria: please provide brief responses to the key selection criteria noted above
6. Clinical placement report
7. Second Clinical placement report

The preference is for reports from acute placements in final year and second year

A copy of your Academic Transcript: we understand that this will not yet be complete
