Program Overview
Cohuna District Hospital Graduate Nurse Program Blended Stream
Positions are offered at 0.8 EFT (8 days per fortnight)
Recruiting is in collaboration with Post Medical Council of Victoria Allocation and Placement Service.
This graduate program is designed to help the Graduate Nurse transition from student to Registered Nurse and to provide consolidation of knowledge and skills whilst using a holistic approach to the delivery of nursing care.
Rotations are offered in Acute Care, Aged Care, Renal Dialysis Unit, Medical Day Procedure Unit (MDPU) Nursing, Perioperative Unit and Midwifery Group Practice (MGP).
Commencement date: January 2027

Key Selection Criteria
KSC1 Sound level of knowledge and skill relating to nursing care and the clinical environment appropriate to the position.
KSC2 Commitment to ongoing learning and the ability to accept constructive feedback and appropriate direction.
KSC3 Ability to set goals and objective and meet deadlines as required.
KSC4 Commitment to working as part of a team and the ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
KSC5 Commitment to completing all requirements of the graduate nurse program continuing professional development.
KSC6 Knowledge of contemporary nursing issues, trends and research.
KSC7 Commitment to quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
