Cohuna District Hospital is a welcoming, rural health service located in northern Victoria, dedicated to delivering high-quality care with compassion and respect. Established as a public hospital in 1952, it has a rich history of serving the Cohuna community and surrounding areas.

The hospital offers a range of acute services including medical, surgical and obstetric care through its 8-bed facility. In addition to inpatient care, Cohuna District Hospital provides vital community and home-based services such as District Nursing, Social Support Groups and Meals on Wheels, in partnership with Northern District Community Health.

Position Title: Perioperative Nurse

Classification: RN (Grade 2) or EEN (Level 2.3 to 2.7)

Salary per hour: RN – $42.53 to $52.82 per hour + Casual Loading + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

EEN – $37.02 to $39.39 per hour + Casual Loading + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Role description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse or Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our peri-operative team. This role is integral to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across our surgical services.

Current surgical specialties include: general surgeries, gynaecology, endoscopy and other surgeries as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and scope of practice.
• Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Undertake thorough assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients and their families.
• Practice independently and interdependently, assuming accountability for your actions and decisions.

About you

• Current nursing registration with AHPRA
• A minimum of two years’ experience in perioperative suite
• Demonstrated competence in peri-operative nursing care
• A strong commitment to high quality care
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
