The hospital offers a range of acute services including medical, surgical and obstetric care through its 8-bed facility. In addition to inpatient care, Cohuna District Hospital provides vital community and home-based services such as District Nursing, Social Support Groups and Meals on Wheels, in partnership with Northern District Community Health.

Position Title: Perioperative Nurse
Classification: RN (Grade 2) or EEN (Level 2.3 to 2.7)
Salary per hour: RN – $42.53 to $52.82 per hour + Casual Loading + superannuation + generous salary packaging options
EEN – $37.02 to $39.39 per hour + Casual Loading + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Role description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse or Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our peri-operative team. This role is integral to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across our surgical services.
Current surgical specialties include: general surgeries, gynaecology, endoscopy and other surgeries as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and scope of practice.
- Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
- Undertake thorough assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients and their families.
- Practice independently and interdependently, assuming accountability for your actions and decisions.
About you
- Current nursing registration with AHPRA
- A minimum of two years’ experience in perioperative suite
- Demonstrated competence in peri-operative nursing care
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
