Cohuna District Hospital is a welcoming, rural health service located in northern Victoria, dedicated to delivering high-quality care with compassion and respect. Established as a public hospital in 1952, it has a rich history of serving the Cohuna community and surrounding areas.

The hospital offers a range of acute services including medical, surgical and obstetric care through its 8-bed facility. In addition to inpatient care, Cohuna District Hospital provides vital community and home-based services such as District Nursing, Social Support Groups and Meals on Wheels, in partnership with Northern District Community Health.

Aged care is also a key part of our service, with a 16-bed nursing home wing adjacent to the hospital, built through strong community support. Our team is proud to work in a collaborative, supportive environment where staff are valued and encouraged to grow.

Position Title: Aged Care Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator                       

Classification: Leisure & Lifestyle Grade 3 (IN33)

Salary per hour: $33.27+ superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Employment Type: Ongoing part-time 32 hours per fortnight

Award: Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025

Role description

Are you passionate about enriching the lives of older people? Do you thrive on creating meaningful, person‑centred programs that celebrate individuality and promote wellbeing? We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Lifestyle professional to lead our Lifestyle Team and deliver exceptional experiences for residents in our aged care community.

In this rewarding leadership role, you will develop, implement, and oversee a holistic Lifestyle and Wellbeing Program that reflects each person’s unique preferences, life history, abilities, and cultural background. You will champion a person‑centred approach, ensuring every resident has opportunities to engage, connect, and thrive.

Working closely with the care team, you will support the physical, psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of residents through meaningful activities, social engagement, and community connection.

About you

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (CHC43415), or Certificate IV in Diversional Therapy, or Certificate III in Aged Care, or other appropriate qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of person‑centred care principles.
  • Creative, organised, and confident in program planning and coordination.
