Cohuna District Hospital is a welcoming, rural health service located in northern Victoria, dedicated to delivering high-quality care with compassion and respect. Established as a public hospital in 1952, it has a rich history of serving the Cohuna community and surrounding areas.
The hospital offers a range of acute services including medical, surgical and obstetric care through its 8-bed facility. In addition to inpatient care, Cohuna District Hospital provides vital community and home-based services such as District Nursing, Social Support Groups and Meals on Wheels, in partnership with Northern District Community Health.
Aged care is also a key part of our service, with a 16-bed nursing home wing adjacent to the hospital, built through strong community support. Our team is proud to work in a collaborative, supportive environment where staff are valued and encouraged to grow.

Position Title: Aged Care Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant
Classification: IN31 – IN32
Salary per hour: $28.84 to $31.65 + superannuation + generous salary packaging options
Employment Type: Ongoing part-time 30 hours per fortnight
Award: Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025
Role description
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Aged Care Lifestyle Assistant to support the coordinator in the efficient and effective operation of our Aged Care Lifestyle program. This role plays a key part in delivering meaningful, engaging, and person‑centred activities that enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for the older adults in our care.
You will assist with program planning, delivery, evaluation, and ongoing improvement while building strong relationships with residents, volunteers, families, and the wider care team.

- Minimum level first aid certificate
- A genuine passion for supporting older adults to live meaningful and enriched lives
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
