Cohuna District Hospital is a welcoming, rural health service located in northern Victoria, dedicated to delivering high-quality care with compassion and respect. Established as a public hospital in 1952, it has a rich history of serving the Cohuna community and surrounding areas.
The hospital offers a range of acute services including medical, surgical and obstetric care through its 8-bed facility. In addition to inpatient care, Cohuna District Hospital provides vital community and home-based services such as District Nursing, Social Support Groups and Meals on Wheels, in partnership with Northern District Community Health.

Position Title: Associate Nurse Unit Manager
Classification: YW11-YW12
Salary per hour: $59.16 to $61.15 + superannuation + generous salary packaging options
Employment Type: Ongoing full-time or part-time (up to 72 hours per fortnight)
Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 -2028
Role description
Cohuna District Hospital are seeking an experienced ANUM or aspiring manager to join our dedicated team working primarily in our Acute Ward. If you are a Registered Nurse who:
- Has great interpersonal and communication skills
- Has sound nursing skills including infection control, assessment & care planning experience, and are familiar with National Safety & Quality in Healthcare Standards
- Like working in a happy environment and want to be a part of a team who provide amazing person-centered care, with support from a NUM
- The wish to end your work day with a strong sense of accomplishment & job satisfaction
The ANUM position creates opportunities to gain experience in an In-Charge position, and to lead and manage staff of the unit within a supportive environment.
About you
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. Post graduate qualification where a specialty area requires this to fulfil the full duties of the position.
- Advanced assessment, care planning, care delivery and evaluation skills
- Experience or willingness to gain experience in frontline management
